History

The firm was established as a partnership in 1975 by Dr. Rodney Maud an engineering geologist and Dr. John Drennan a geotechnical engineer.

Over time, as the firm grew, more professionals joined and replaced the founding partners when they eventually retired. The practice finally ceased to be a partnership in 2014 when it merged with GAP Consulting, itself a practice at the forefront of geosynthetics applications in the civil engineering and building industry, to form Drennan Maud (Pty) Ltd.

In so doing, Drennan Maud (Pty) Ltd ensures that it’s established 40 year footprint in South Africa and the rest of the African continent and Indian Ocean Islands continues to make a significant impact in providing solid geotechnical and geological advice across all the engineering and mining disciplines from public and private clients, to other consulting practices.

Drennan Maud (Pty) Ltd regularly undertakes work outside of South Africa in Lesotho, Swaziland, Mozambique, Uganda, Tanzania, Mali, Nigeria, Republic of Congo, Sudan, Ethiopia and Mauritius.
