History

The firm was established as a partnership in 1975 by Dr Rodney Maud, an engineering geologist, and Dr John Drennan, a geotechnical engineer.

Over time, as the firm grew, more professionals joined and replaced the founding partners when they eventually retired. The practice ceased to be a partnership in 2014, when it restructured to form Drennan Maud (Pty) Ltd.

The practice has maintained the core principles of its founding directors while also incorporating new technology as it emerges, to maintain a high industry standard and efficient workflow.

Our continued operations fall primarily in KwaZulu-Natal, but also across the South African mainland and the broader African continent. Countries of work in the recent years include South Africa, Lesotho, Swaziland, Mozambique, Tanzania, Congo, Malawi, Mauritius, Burkina-Faso, Botswana, Seychelles and Somalia.
